Finally I watched this movie again: saw it some years ago. I didn´t like it then, maybe a little more now. Recently I´ve been reading all kinds of reviews about this movie, many of them all glowing, like so many strange articles on this website. This is not a movie to like; it´s a movie rather to admire: mainly for its technical achievement.
The Brad Pitt character is absolutely abhorrent, but that is not its downfall: it´s totally incoherent. And it´s overabundantly violent. The Ed Norton character is what keeps it alive, along with the director´s stamina and visual splendor. Sometimes it´s just a game between the director / photographer / editor / sound editor. The greatest piece of this movie belongs to the editor-company, the script being an endless source of possibilities for those guys.
So many people, especially young adults, seem to like this crash of a movie.
I don´t care for dvd or Blue-ray technicalities when plot and character don´t go hand in hand.
In my opinion the best movie(s) ever: The Godfather I-II.

In the end: a highly overrated movie depending on photographic/editorial gimmicks.
Grade: B-
Character-wise it is flat (with the exception of Tyler Durden).
