I Hate the Word ‘Maverick’

First John McCain is a maverick and then every Republican uses it. Now, Sarah Palin is a maverick and it is a maverick decision and even Maverick from Top Gun would say it is maverick because it is indeed maverick. Ain't it Goose?

I also love how, when asked, McCain supporters are saying that Palin is indeed ready to be Commander in Chief should it come to that. Really? Then why wasn't she running earlier this year?

Apparently Palin is thinking in line with McCain, but the pro-life argument is all I am hearing about. How about this quote from 2007:

"I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq," she said. "I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, Condoleezza Rice and the administration, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place; I want assurances that we are doing all we can to keep our troops safe."

Uh oh, an exit plan? I hope that doesn't mean timelines because as we learned in the battle between Mitt and John the word timelines is the buzz word that gets McCain all riled up.

I am not saying anything negative about Palin or McCain here, I am just tired of party supporters being such lap dogs and NEVER giving their actual opinion.

I can already hear the Democratic response saying how it is a risky move and do we want a 72-year-old man making more risky moves in the White House? The age and inexperience crap needs to stop. However, before we stop that, let's stop using the word "maverick".

Thanks.

  1. I agree, I think I will actually throw up if I hear the word maverick one more time. John MacCain is no maverick. If he was he would have voted against this Bail out. I will be voting for him, but only because I feel like I have no choice. Obama is not experienced enough to be Conmmander and chief. I amd tired of hearing all the little slogans too, such as he has no expierience. But why can’t we talk about his inexpierience? What has he done? Community Organizer……… Phfffff Whatever that means. I wish I could vote neither. If this country knew then what we know now we would be looking at a Huckabee/ Palin Ticket. This Bail out ticks me off. Under the Clinton years all we heard was how many more people were affording new homes and 1st time homeowners were in record numbers. Now we know Why. They COULDN”T FREAKING AFFORD THEM. But they got them anyway. Now we are in the mess we are in. Those home owners should have been renters. If I can’t afford a Tiffany bracelet I don’t buy it. I dont’ have the tax payers help me out with my wants.
