Schwarzenegger Does His Thing for John McCain and Does It Well

One thing I will say for Arnold Schwarzenegger, he really pumped this crowd of John McCain supporters in Columbus, Ohio up, but he did it almost like a WWF wrestler pumps up the crowd. He talked about winning the Mr. World competition, the Arnold Classic and how skinny Barack Obama is, but he did manage to hit a few political points that really resonated. It was definitely impressive.

However, his final send-off when introducing McCain was a bit odd as he asked the crowd:

In closing, ladies and gentlemen, being president is all about leadership, we all know that. So when Americans go into that voting booth on Tuesday I hope you will think about this, if you were in a POW cell with threat, danger and torture as part of your daily life who would you want in that cell with you? You want a man of eloquence or a man of proven courage?

Where the hell did that come from? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't prefer to be a POW regardless of who was next to me. I know if I am there with Obama I won't be like, "Damn, I wish you were John McCain," or vice versa. I would be more like, "Shit! Now what do we do?"

Good night for Republican and certainly a bad night for Democrats as Zogby now ran a one day poll showing McCain with a one point lead (48% to 47%). Get out and vote people and get your friends out there with you!

Fortunately the Gallup Polls still have Obama up 8 points with likely voters. Whew... quick breath and then back to work...

Did I forget to say "VOTE FOR OBAMA"!?!?! Well it has now been said.

Someone Explain Because This Guy Can’t

The problem with so many Republican arguments is continually beginning to come to light and that is that they can't explain what they mean and not sound hateful. So the decision is to either say nothing or try and spin it a different direction.

CNN’s Rick Sanchez Meets Tucker Bounds #2

I think we have just found the look that defines dumbfounded as my boy from Iowa, David Frank, just alerted me to the most amazing case of McCain camp stupidity once again. Rick Sanchez in a conversation with McCain campaign spokesman Mike Goldfarb approaches the McCain camp's assertion that Obama is hanging around a bunch of anti-semitic people that apparently "we all know".

The inability to answer the question reminds me of Tucker Bounds' interview with Campbell Brown a long while back. On the left is the Goldfarb interview from today and on the right the Bounds interview from almost two months ago.

Notice any similarities outside of the fact that Goldfarb doesn't even try to change the subject and just sits there? Amazing.

Tommy Cruise Said Don’t Vote?

Zack Braff's 1 second moment in this latest celebrity "Don't Vote" vid is probably the best thing about it, but you have to appreciate these celebs' attempt to act like they don't understand the concept.

Barbara West’s Loyalty and McCain’s Confusion

I rarely watch Fox News because of their leanings to the right, I have a hard time watching MSNBC because they are SO far left and that means I spend most of my time on CNN, which is about as middle as they come but still a left leaning news organization that also includes the wacko Lou Dobbs. My point here, I at least know where they stand and they rarely try and hide it. I can respect that.

However, I have absolutely zero respect for this Barbara West woman in Orlando following her 1:1 with Bill O'Reilly and her comments regarding her interview with John McCain and her statement saying she was equally harsh on McCain as she was on Biden. I'll admit, she asked some tough questions, but the greatest thing about the questions she asked is even McCain was laughing at them. From what I can gather from West's performance is that she is a local news woman for a reason, she just isn't a good journalist.

I agree with O'Reilly, that her questions of Biden were just fine but she needs to learn how to phrase her questions so she doesn't come off as a 100% right wing supporter. You can be a righty without sounding like one. But when it comes to proving where her loyalties lie I think watching the following three videos in progression will give you a good idea of what kind of context any interview West gives should be taken in. You can watch her most recent McCain interview here.

The best thing about the new interview is when McCain says:

"He says he's going to find a lot of very rich people out there to tax, you're probably one of 'em, and that we're going to have to increase spending dramatically. How do you pay for that? And then, cut defense when we're in two wars? And we've got our military is too small to handle the job right now and we've got to increase the size of our military and he wants to cut defense spending? Well, that's a sneak preview my friends and that's what you're going to be deciding on a week from tomorrow."

First off, no, that's not what you are voting on if he is referring to Obama because those comments were about Barney Frank and not Obama (gotcha!), a completely different man. At least I think it is... Scandal? Better look into it GOP.

I also love the way he says Frank wants to increase taxes on rich people and increase spending. Then he asks how you pay for the increase. I won't even point out the logic because it is too obvious, especially when McCain says we are fighting two wars. Does he understand Obama's message or is he just choosing to ignore it? The war is costing the U.S. $10 billion a month my friend.

West with Biden (10/23)

West with O'Reilly (10/28)

West with McCain (10/14)

Oh, and it doesn't hurt to know that Barbara West's husband, Wade West, is a political and media consultant for Republican politicians. Just as an added footnote.

Is Everyone a Political Expert Now?

Okay, there are two things to this and it begins with the Barbara West interview Joe Biden had on October 25th. I do not have a problem with local news teams asking tough questions and I do think it is ridiculous to "ban" any news station as is being reported the Obama campaign has done to WFTV in Orlando and reportedly a Philly CBS affiliate now thanks to this latest video:

However, what I do have a problem with is the attempt at surprising the interviewee with these questions. I am not saying he should be told the exact questions beforehand, but at least made aware that real questions are going to be asked. It's just in fairness to the person being interviewed. Essentially what is happening is equivalent to going to a snowball fight and finding one side is putting rocks in their snowballs.

My other problem is with who is asking the questions. These local news anchors, as evidenced in the snippets above, are just reading from other news sources and in a short local news report you can't have a real discussion. So what is the point?

Maybe ask one tough question and dig into it. Don't just go, "Okay, well how about this then...?" That's just digging for a story and not trying to actually solve something. Ask your tough questions, but come prepared to follow up the question, don't just bounce to the next tough one because the candidate says, "Nope, wrong." There is more to the question than "Nope, wrong" and these dimwits settle for it. If you are going to ask the question then get the answer.

Also, I must say I am embarrassed using a gossip girl as reporting this news, and I think it speaks to her genius when she says the station was embarrassed by the interview and didn't rerun it and she doesn't go on that fact but instead says there is trouble because Biden asked to ban the station.

From Bobby Kennedy

"I think we can end the divisions within the United States. What I think is quite clear is that we can work together in the last analysis. And that what has been going on with the United States over the period of the last three years, the divisions, the violence, the disenchantment with our society, the divisions - whether it's between blacks and whites, between the poor and the more affluent, or between age groups, or in the war in Vietnam - that we can work together. We are a great country, an unselfish country and a compassionate country. And I intend to make that my basis for running."

Barbara West Plays Gotcha with Joe Biden and Gets Got

Wow, this interview makes Joe Biden look fantastic! It is apparent Orlando's WFTV-Channel 9's Barbara West thinks she was offering up some questions that would stump Biden but he nailed each and everyone, but the smug appearance by West at the end of the interview makes it apparently obvious the questions were written for her and not by her because she thought she was drilling him when in fact he knocked each one out of the park.

The big news surrounding the story is that the Obama campaign has now canceled an interview with Jill Biden, Joe's wife, and the Republican party is crying foul. Cry foul all you want. Draw attention to this interview all you want. Each and every bullshit argument that is being made is shot down one-by-one and West is too dumb do realize it. Her heart must have beating a mile a minute just hoping she wasn't asked what she thought about the answers because she would have been glass-eyed with stupidity.

Vote McCain, Not Barack Hussein

It never ceases to amaze me that these people are willing to do these things in public and on camera and they say "Vote McCain not Hussein" with a smile on their face.

I grow increasingly scared of what is going to happen once Barack wins. If these people legitimately think he is a terrorist what are they going to do once he is the President.

I don't know about you, but if I actually thought a terrorist was running our country I would hope someone would do something about it. And these hillbilly retards can hardly think on that level and I am worried will simply react. Scary stuff when you finally see how many racist ignoramuses are actually out there.

Thanks to Wells at Hollywood Elsewhere for the latest example of hatred spreading throughout America.
