Is John McCain Really The Joker?

I love all the back-tracking the anchor has to do after the video plays...

Cry Me a River… Right Wing Complains Coverage Not Fair

Not fair? What is this, the playground? This is just one more reason why party lines need to be eradicated in politics.

The Chicago Tribune has a new article and the main thrust of the story is that the media is covering Obama's overseas trip way more than it covered John McCain's. Of course, the mere fact the Republicans are complaining forces news media to bring it up once again all while the media places quotes to justify itself while the right is represented by radio wacko Rush Limbaugh.

"No matter how understandable it is given the newness of the candidate and the historical nature of Obama's candidacy, in the end it's probably not fair to McCain," said Tom Rosenstiel, director of the Project for Excellence in Journalism.

The best quote, however, comes from Paul Friedman, senior vice president of CBS News, who said, while fairness is the goal, "what are we supposed to do, go gin up some story about McCain to get some rough equality of airtime? I don't think so."

NBC News President Steve Capus said, "We're just trying to do our jobs. There's no question that there's great news value in Sen. Obama's trip overseas. That's why we are doing this."

When I said this is a reason party lines need to be dropped in the opening, it's because the people complaining are the people that follow party lines. They don't care who the Republican or Democratic candidate is as long as the one they are aligned with ends up winning. It is job security for them. It's one more instance of people looking out for themselves and not for the good of the country. Sort of like the main reason we are in this current oil crisis.

Neighborhood Hooligans

I live in a decent neighborhood. I mean, some of the houses around me go for $1 million, there's a nice little shopping square near me and so forth. It's not "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" and my apartment building isn't five star (or even four stary for that matter), but it isn't ghetto living. However, you wouldn't be able to tell by some of the shit that goes down.

First off, there is something of a phenomenon that I have started to notice in Seattle. I first saw it downtown, which is where I would expect it considering the number of transients in my area is basically nil outside of the blind guy begging outside my local UPS Store.

But, I have noticed the habit folks have of actually jumping into the dumpster outside of the mini QFC grocery store near me. Normally it is two people and one stands watch and guides the other while they sift through the waste for what I assume to be their daily calorie intake. Most recently I saw a pair that couldn't have been more than say 21 years-old. Had you seen them walking around you wouldn't have thought them homeless, at least not to the point of dumpster-diving, but sure enough, the lid opens and the male jumps in... as I walk by I hear, "That's why you don't go more than two layers deep." It made me sad... especially since this was not the first time I had seen these two and it was the third time that week I had seen a different person jump into the same dumpster... that was about a week ago and I had only seen it a couple times before then and I haven't seen it happen since and I have lived here for about a year and a half, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening every day.

Next up we have last night's events.

Just Don’t Use It!

Why do white people in general have such a hard time accepting the fact that they just shouldn't use the word "nigger" or "nigga" or any form of the word? Just shut up, don't use it and don't worry about it. This video from "The View" is mind-boggling as Elisabeth Hasselbeck will just not shut up and let shit be...

She comes off as so ignorant and stupid in terms of the way the world works around her, it is obvious they keep her on the show just for that reason. There is a local radio show host here in Seattle I used to listen to who also wonders why "it is okay for black people to say it and not white people?" Uh, do you seriously find yourself in situations where the word "nigger" would be appropriate? If so I would recommend canceling your KKK membership and you may not run into that situation as frequently.

Watch the video below (or after the jump if you are on the homepage) and just bask in the stupidity and be sure to get to the end when she starts to cry:

Helen Mirren Still Hot at “Almost” 65

Helen Mirren turns 64 on July 26 and after just watching The Long Good Friday just recently, which Mirren starred in 28 years ago (she was definitely hot back then) it is amazing to see just how well she has aged. Seriously, I think you will be shocked at how impressive this pic is considering Mirren's age. You can find even more here.

Hayden Panettiere Sluts It Up in Music Video

Good Lord is this new video for "Wake Up Call" from Hayden Panettiere awful. It's as if a blond slut was found on a music video lost at see as this video waves back and forth and Hayden does her best to appear sexy. Ugh, it makes me sick to even watch any of it.

Florida = Oppositeland

You gotta love the image of a billboard from Orange Country, Florida found over at Gawker. While I may be talking shit about The New Yorker for their ignorance it is hard to fault the retarded deep pockets of Florida, they just don't know any better.

What the Fuck is This Cover All about?

I am all for freedom of the press, but when an image like this hits the cover of "The New Yorker" and will be displayed on news stands front and center all throughout the city without even a hint of a catchy headline explaining what the hell it is all about is just dispicable. I have a hard time understanding if the folks in the media realize how important this upcoming election is. The American public can hardly figure out the fact that things are going bad in this world without a magazine as high profile as The New Yorker filling their heads with ideas that will do nothing more than confuse the shit out of them.
