Bill Murray Moves into Kenan's 'City of Ember'
New young adult novel gets adapted
Variety reports that Bill Murray is set to join Toby Jones and Saoirse Ronan in City of Ember for director Gil Kenan, helmer of last year's animated film Monster House.
City of Ember was adapted by Caroline Thompson from the Jeanne DuPrau young adult novel. The film is set in an insular, dark place where the only light comes from street lamps. As the power source begins to fail, two teenagers search for clues that will unlock ancient mysteries about the city but they are thwarted by a corrupt mayor.
With filming set to begin this summer in Belfast it already has an established release date of October 10, 2008 for 20th Century Fox and Fox Walden.
