Ben Affleck's Batman Sounds Like He Needs a Nap

Don't blame him if he's a little lethargic

batman-tiredStop the presses, there is big news coming out of the Warner Bros. camp as CEO Kevin Tsujihara told investors during the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Communications and Entertainment Conference that Ben Affleck's Batman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film will be "kind of tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for a while." Oh man, someone get this guy some sleeping pills and a Serta quick!

Surprisingly, Tsujihara continued saying Affleck is "perfect for the vision," presumably because Affleck is so tired and weary and that they "think it's going to be huge." Really? You think the Man of Steel sequel with Batman is going to be huge? What did you base your assumption on? [Deadline]

Depends on whether or not they're going The Dark Knight route. No, not THAT dark knight.

Potentially a SPOILER for the movie:

  • JN Films

Damn it Warner Bros. just spoiled the movie D:

  • Chris138

Affleck looked pretty tired in Argo so perhaps that is why they cast him in the role.

Drinking a cup of hot cocoa, this made me laugh. My nostrils burn and my sense of smell forever gone.

  • andyluvsfilms

Affleck can do tired and sleepy, i'll give you that.

  • Django

Turns out they got the right guy for the job after all. He looks lethargic and wooden in every film.

    • Kimberlesk

Couldn't agree more - maybe they did know what they were doing when they cast him.

This headline and picture, thank you for that Brad haha.

    Hilarious article Brad!

Love the animated Batman pic. But hopefully Affleck isn't playing the character just like Bale in The Dark Knight Rises.

So WB wants to create a superhero franchise like JLA that rivals Marvel's Avengers... And there plan is to introduce, arguably, the most popular character from that group as an older man who is 'tired and weary'...?

You never cease to amaze me, WB.

I'm really going to have to prepare myself for all these cynical (but funny) articles/posts leading up the film's release. Give love a chance people! :)

Heehee... Batman doesn't get enough sleep. You know what that means! He's going to be more tired and weary than usual, so the villain will have the upper hand, and push him onto some conveniently placed train tracks to his death.

If they continue off of Dark Knight RIses, there is the problem of where Catwoman went...
But I would like that, if no Bale then at least try to make this work with the prior series..."the reboot" thing is so stupidly bad. Didn't we just see "Rises" last year?

    • Sean Fast

i dont mind reboots, as long as they dont do a new origin story in the film EVERY TIME. they wont have to do one here, while still classifying it as a reboot, so i'm ok with it. and im a batman fanatic...

If he's tired doesn't be need a cup of coffee or maybe a Mountain Dew instead of sleeping pills? Or maybe he's an insomniac Batman. Maybe this is actually a prequel to Nolan's Insomnia! You'd think WB would love that crossover appeal.

  • flexnfx

I think the Batman fanbase is tired and weary of Gigli-Man.

As always, "gotta get 'dem clicks."
