Beef Up on 'Bourne 4' with 'The Parsifal Mosiac' and 'Jurassic Park 4' is Dead
Also a bit on Spielberg's 'Lincoln'
Coming Soon is reporting from the press junket for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and mini news bits are emerging as producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy have revealed a couple of details regarding the next Jason Bourne film and the apparently non-existent production process on Jurassic Park IV.
First off, when asked if there was work being done on Jurassic Park IV, a film that has been talked about ever since the third one ended, Kathleen Kennedy said, "No… I don't know. You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it." Boom! There's your news on that one… do with it what you will.
The story on the as-yet Untitled Fourth Jason Bourne Movie Frank Marshall expressed joy over Universal's recent acquisition of the entire Robert Ludlum library and expects to cull the story for the fourth Bourne flick from the pages of a previous Ludlum story despite the fact Ludlum only penned three Bourne novels and technically the films hardly had anything to do with them in the first place.
He jokes about the potential title for the fourth film saying, "Well, there's a lot of jokes. Bourne Again, Bourne Yesterday, Bourne Free, Bourne on the Fourth. I actually want to do that. Call it that and release the movie on the fourth." He also revealed that as of this moment neither Matt Damon or director Paul Greengrass have officially signed on.
As for the story he says, "'The Parsifal Mosiac' is the one we like."
"The Parsifal Mosiac" is a Ludlum book from 1982 and it isn't even available from Amazon.com outside of two used copies and Barnes and Noble doesn't even have it listed. The story, as referenced using various sources around the web, centers on Michael Havelock, an intelligence agent in the United States, who believes his lover and partner as she was assumed to be a KGB double agent. The story shifts as Havelock gets out of the intelligence world, but ultimately learns she is still alive and he begins to pursue her. The word "Parsifal" in the title involves a sketchy deal involving the U.S. Secretary of State, the Russians, Chinese and nukes. Basically it's a bunch of stuff that will never make it to the big screen and I can only assume the focus would be on the male/female dynamic.
Finally, Kennedy adds that it appears Steven Spielberg will finally be getting his shit together and making Lincoln with Liam Neeson in the title role saying, "Steven and I are probably going to be doing Lincoln in the spring."

This news just made my heart die.
For 7 years, ive been waiting for this… Its something that means more to me than anything else in the whole damn world! Between world peace and JPIV, I would pick JPIV.. If today, I was giving the choice of having a JPIV, and that being the only movie ever made for eternity again, I would of gladly taken it…. I feel like a part of my soul has just been raped, killed and buried in a suitcase in the woods. All I want is JP4! More than anything! Why do they make so many crappy sequels to so many crappy franchises that nobody likes anyways? Why in the hell did the Anaconda movie get like 4 freaking sequels? They all suck! Then we have Jurassic park, the best movie in the history of time, and its just as great sequels, yes even 3. It doesn't even get a glance when talks of a 4th movie come up. Whats the deal? I just don't get it. I am more furious than Ive ever felt in my life right now… I'm pissed at the retarded studios, and I'm pissed at the producers for basically taking a giant dump on my face.
I hope there is still a tiny bit of light for this… If it dies… Then well… So will I!
Hey, um….Raptorbite…time to cut back on the caffiene…and maybe see that therapist, so he or she can remind you: movies (fantasy) world peace (reality). Otherwise, you might end up in the La Brea Pit equivalent of the loony bin.
Altho I would not take JP over world piece….iv really been wanting to see another one of those get made, sucks that its not.
Of course I've always been a longtime fan of Jurassic Park (both the books and the film); however, the sequels have always let me down. Lost World let special effects override the story and while I enjoyed parts of III (such as tyredactal – spelling? – attack), but overrall I wasn't impressed. All that having been said, I would like to see a fourth film; they just need a qualified director (like Steven Spielberg).
I'm very excited about Lincoln (since this movie was supposed to come out back in 2006).
And so far, each Bourne sequel has topped the last one, so I'm very optimistic about another venture into the world of America's favorite spy (take that James Bond!).
Jurassic Park is the reason why I love film.
I always thought there should be five Jurassic films, the fifth and final film should be named after the island chain from the first 3, The Five Deaths: Jurassic Park.
But thats just me. Speilberg probably would not want death in the title "too negative" or something, dude it's a film about dinosaurs chasing and eating people, thats all they are about, that and man playing GOD, but alot of fun
Noooooooooooooooooo, 'Bourne on the Fourth' thats a terrible tite it makes me sick and Bourne Free makes me laugh so it evens out, I say stick to the formula, in the title department, as far as bourne goes
i'm so sad jp4 is not happening but i might actually see bourne 4 because bourne ultamatum was the first one that i sat through and didn't fall asleep so i wanna see what they do with number 4
Anyone could make a Jurassic Park movie. If Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall don't produce…oh well, just let someone else do it. No biggie there.
