Baz, Judd and Bennett Bringing Original Shorts to the 2009 Oscars
Details slowly emerge for this year's show
The Academy of Arts and Sciences is keeping tight wraps on this year's Oscars presentation in hopes of stirring the pot and from my estimation it's working as the latest news from the Associated Press has announced that Judd Apatow (Knocked Up) has created a short film for the show which will debut on stage and on screen during the Oscar telecast on Feb. 22, said show producers Bill Condon and Laurence Mark.
Condon told the AP, "We're thrilled to say that our contemporary comedy master Judd Apatow is contributing both a film and live material to that part of the show."
On top of that apparently there was mention last week director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!) would create a production number featuring Oscar host Hugh Jackman and Capote director Bennett Miller is also contributing a film sequence to the telecast. This is the first I am hearing of that one.
