'Baywatch' Movie Set for Summer 2006
DreamWorks picks up rights to hit TV series.
Earlier this year a feature film based on the hit TV series "Baywatch" was announced as a potential 3D adventure titled Baywatch 3-Double-D by StereoVision Entertainment, but apparently that isn't happening as DreamWorks has landed the rights to the show.
In a seven-figure deal DreamWorks landed the rights and is expected to hire a writer quickly in order to procure a summer 2006 release date.
DreamWorks picked up the rights with a guarantee of $1.25 million that had the lawyers finalizing a deal over the weekend, yet on the casting side of things it is unclear if such beauties as Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Yasmine Bleeth or Nicole Eggert or even international "music" star David Hasselhoff will be involved in the pic.
