Baseball and Spidey Don't Mix Well
Due to an unexpected uproar from fans of America's pasttime the expected marketing plan by Columbia Pictures to use the Spider-Man 2 logo on infield bases next month has been abandoned. While other planned promotions will still go on Geoffrey Ammer, president of worldwide marketing for the Columbia TriStar Marketing Group told Reuters, "We thought this would be a fun and unique way to add another dimension to our marketing campaign for 'Spider-Man 2,' and the moment it became apparent that some fans were reacting in a way we didn't intend, we decided we should do everything we could to act quickly and address the issue."
