Banks and Weisz 'Definitely' Negotiate… 'Maybe'
New rom-com looking at a couple of beauties
Two cuties in Elizabeth Banks and Rachel Weisz are in negotiations to star in Definitely, Maybe for Working Title and Universal Pictures.
The romantic comedy was written by Adam Brooks and centers on a soon-to-be-divorced political consultant who has to answer some hard questions from his 11-year-old daughter as he explains his promiscuous past. Ryan Reynolds, Derek Luke and Isla Fisher already have been cast. Banks will play Reynolds' college sweetheart who dumps him for his brother, but the two reunite years later. Weisz will play a woman Reynolds dates after Banks.
On another Elizabeth Banks casting note she has just signed on to star in Fred Claus for Warner Bros. That pic stars Vince Vaughn as the title character, Santa's black-sheep brother, who heads back to the North Pole and gets a chance to redeem himself.
Fred Claus is currently slated for a November 9, 2007 release.
