It's an early year release, but it's a Martin Scorsese film, which means Shutter Island can't be left off although the chances of it securing any topline awards are pretty much zero. However, below the line awards such as cinematography (Robert Richardson), costumes (Sandy Powell) and so forth could be considered. Personally I would love to see Michelle Williams considered for supporting as of right now, but that's a pipe dream.
Synopsis
Laeta Kalogridis' adaptation of Dennis Lehane's 2004 novel, in which Ruffalo will play U.S. Marshal Chuck Aule, who travels with his new partner (DiCaprio) to the eponymous Massachusetts island in 1954. As they investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane, they encounter a web of lies, a hurricane and a deadly inmate riot that leaves them trapped on the island.
