Along with the individual film previews we also take a look at the Special Effects race, the films vying for a spot as Best Animated Film and then a quick look at some of the other films in contention for oscars in our "The Rest..." section.

Each preview can be accessed using the menu to the left as we give you a quick preview on each film and where it stands the best chance for an award based on several factors. We primarily stick to the above the line awards such as Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and the supporting roles but occassionally things such as costumes, cinematography, set design, score and so forth work their way into the argument.

So as you make your plans this award season you may want to make sure you check some of these films out at your local theater and are ready as the nominations for the 79th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at 5:30 a.m. PST, and you better believe our coverage doesn't end here.
