Atwell Back for 'Captain America 2', Laurie Joins Bird's 'Tomorrowland' and Fleischer to Direct 'Spy Hunter'

And Richard Matheson is bring back his 'Shrinking Man'

Hayley Atwell in Captain America1.) While "Revenge" star Emily VanCamp is set to play the lead female role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, word has come down that Hayley Atwell, who played Peggy Carter in the first film, will be back for a cameo. Interestingly enough, the news comes via Stanley Tucci who's not sure if he'll be asked back but told Collider, "I know that Hayley is going back to do a flashback scene, but I have not been asked." The film is set to hit theaters on April 4, 2014. [Collider]

2.) Warner Bros. is still trying to get the Spy Hunter movie off the ground with Ruben Fleischer (Gangster Squad) currently attached to direct after it languished for years at Universal. The studio has now brought on relative newbie, Carter Blanchard to pen the script based on the video game that follows ex-fighter pilot who rids the world of spies, assassins, and other bad guys with his souped-up Interceptor car. [Variety]

3.) David Ayer has found his next project, turning his attention to a World War II film titled Fury, which follows a five-man American tank crew in Europe in the final days of the war. Ayer wrote and directed last year's excellent End of Watch and has Ten starring Arnold Schwarzenegger set for release next January. [Deadline]

4.) Hugh Laurie ("House") is the newest cast member aboard Brad Bird's Tomorrowland. Laurie joins George Clooney in the sci-fi pic, which was once titled 1952 and is rumored to have a UFO element to it. [Yahoo]

5.) Richard Matheson's stories have brought us adaptations such as I Am Legend, The Box and Real Steel, and now MGM has acquired the rights to "The Shrinking Man", which was first adapted for the big screen as The Incredible Shrinking Man in 1957. Matheson will pen the script with his son, Richard Matheson Jr., sticking to the tone of the original story centering on a man who is exposed to radiation and insecticide and begins to shrink. The Mathesons will modernize the story to reflect advancements such as nanotechnology. [THR]
