'As I Lay Dying' Trailer and Poster, James Franco's Cannes Entry

As I Lay Dying trailer

James Franco arrives in Cannes with his adaptation of William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying in tow and a first trailer and poster for the film have just come in. As I Lay Dying will have its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard selection on Monday, May 20 and I'll be reporting soon after with my thoughts so stay tuned.

The film tells the story of the death of Addie Bundren (Beth Grant) and her family's quest to honor her wish to be buried in the nearby town of Jefferson.

Franco wrote, directed and stars in the film as Darl Bundren, Addie's second oldest son, and "True Blood" star Jim Parrack as Cash Bundren, Addie's eldest son. Additional members of the cast include Richard Jenkins, Danny McBride, Logan Marshall-Green, Ahna O'Reilly and Tim Blake Nelson.

Check out the trailer and poster below and see what you think and if you haven't yet checked out my top ten most anticipated movies I'll be seeing at the fest click here.

Looks like Franco has tried to create a film with a narrative as opposed to the abstract work he seemed to want to do. Looks like it could be pretty good. And is it me, or does Logan Marshall-Green look like Tom Hardy with that beard?
