You Don't Need to Pass an IQ Test to be in the Senate

Bill Maher makes one senator looks pretty dumb

This is the part of Religulous that may interest me, honest questions and answer about religion. However, if it is a film filled with dummies like this guy then that sort of defeats the purpose. If the intent is to prove there are people out there that may not be so bright when it comes to their religious beliefs then you really haven't proven anything that we don't already know. Of course, people follow religion blindly and don't really have the answers and say stupid things, but how about asking your questions to the people that may actually have an answer?

Just a thought.

Check out the clip below, you may enjoy it. One thing is for certain, this guy should have never agreed to the interview and how they got his consent to allow his interview to be in the movie is beyond me.

Heres the thing that bothers me. Its not so much a question and answer as much as Bill Maher trying to provoke people to saying something, one way or another, for or against religion. Religion is always going to be a hot topic, so to speak, but it's clear what side of the fence Bill Maher is on and what his intent is for this "film", and its not to open a reasonable debate. And hey, thats his right, but don't try to hide it under the guise of intelligent discussion. But coming from the director of Borat, did anyone REALLY expect this to have any actual merit?

And the thing is, the scientific community IS divided when it comes to evolution. I think its just as much a leap of "faith" to say that a god created everything as it is to say that humans evolved from some primordial ooze, to a monkey and BAM! you have homo sapiens. But I suppose thats another debate for another time. ..

The scientific community is NOT divided. I just wanted to make that clear. The theory of evolution has been tested and proven many times. The above poster is probably misunderstanding abiogenesis with the theory of evolution. Any respectable scientist can't say that the theory of evolution is false, for they would have to prove that it is false, and scientifically nobody has done that, for if they had, then the theory of evolution would no longer exist.
