Wow, NBC Moving Forward with New ‘Knight Rider’ Series

This one shocks the shit out of me

Did you see the “Knight Rider” mini-series? I did, and it was horrible. I actually began to wonder how they could actually release the series, which was obviously hurt by the writers strike because I can’t see that script being greenlit unless the studio had absolutely nothing else to do.

No matter, NBC is going to move forward with a complete series reports Variety saying the show was just added to NBC’s 2008-09 roster. Despite being horrible, the series did bring in solid ratings in a February that was filled with alternative programming such as reality television galore. On top of that, who wouldn’t want to see a new “Knight Rider”? I watched it just to see how far the train wreck could go, getting ever so more impressed as it continued down the track.

“Knight Rider” has been given an episodic order and has been mentioned as a contender for a Friday night timeslot.

There was no official word on returning cast but you can only assume both Justin Bruening and Deanna Russo will be back as Mike Traceur and Sarah Graiman respectively. It is expected NBC will announce more detailed plans during its early upfront on Wednesday.

Oh dear go….. Knight Rider and The A-Team, both icons of their era, but they should stay there. I grew up with them, playing murdock after school or talking into our watches.
It doesn’t work any more. Leave my childhood memories alone!
