Workers Using Blowtorches Caused Universal Fires

Gotta be hard showing up for work after that

The fire that tore through Universal Studios on Sunday was an accident due to workers using blowtorches. There was no word on what exactly the workers were doing at the time of the fire, but I am sure they were running shortly after it began.

The fire ultimately destroyed Universal’s King Kong attraction, an area called New York street, the set of Clint Eastwood’s upcoming film The Changeling and an area called “Courthouse Square” where numerous movies have been shot including several scenes of the 1985 hit Back to the Future.

Universal studio chief Ron Meyer was quoted saying, “Fortunately, nothing irreplaceable was lost,” he said. “The video library was affected and damaged, but our main vault of our motion picture negatives was not.”
