Woody Wants Penelope Next
A new muse for the aging director

Is it just me or has Woody Allen pretty much run his course? I have had no interest in seeing any of his recent films and I made the drastic mistake of watching Anything Else, which was a major travesty of a film. I have not seen Scoop or Match Point even though those two films actually look a little interesting.
That said, it appears Woody Allen has left his most recent muse in Scarlett Johansson and has grabbed a new leading lady in the form of Oscar-nominated Penélope Cruz, at least according to an article out of Fox News.
Word is the untitled comedy-drama will film all summer in Barcelona, where Allen will move his family and crew. In the film Penelope will speak both Spanish and English, but word on the synopsis is nil.
Allen is currently prepping to shop around his latest flick Cassandra's Dream at the Cannes Film Festival. Allen described the film to Fox as "heavy" and "serious" and "more like Match Point. If you liked that one, you're going to love this." The pic stars Ewan McGregor, Colin Farrell, Tom Wilkinson and Michelle Williams and is a tale of two brothers with serious financial woes. When a third party proposes they turn to crime, things go bad and the two become enemies.
