'Wolverine' Stars Join Cast of 'John Carter of Mars'
Kitsch and Collins set to play the lead roles

Hot on the heels of news the Disney (not Pixar) feature film John Carter of Mars would be heading into production this November in Utah, The Hollywood Reporter announces Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins have joined the production as the two lead characters.
The film is based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs novels beginning with "A Princess of Mars" which tells the story of John Carter (Kitsch), a Civil War veteran who inexplicably finds himself held prisoner on the planet Mars by the Green Men of Thark. Together with Dejah Thoris (Collins), the princess of another clan on Mars, the unlikely pair must fight for their freedom and save the entire planet from destruction as the life-sustaining Atmosphere Factory slowly grinds to a halt.
Both Kitsch and Collins starred in this summer's X-Men Origins: Wolverine with Kitsch playing Gambit and Collins playing Wolverine's love interest, Kayla Silverfox. Collins can also be seen on HBO's "True Blood," with the second season set to begin this Sunday, June 14.
Andrew Stanton (WALL•E) is set to direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mark Andrews.
