tuskentrooper, thanks for clearing that up, I got that original information from The Hollywood Reporter. However, I am curious, what is your opinion on this whole thing? You seem like someone that has a special place for Star Wars but have a level head and realize that snap judgments based on this film really are unimportant and there are far more important things to worry about. Even for a Star Wars fan. Am I wrong?

*sigh* More misinformed reporters…please check your facts guys.

The 501st Legion is not involved as an organization in any protests, boycotts, or movements related to the film Fanboys, nor do we have an opinion or position on the film (which has not yet been released). A few of our more than 4,000 members in 47 countries participated in the project, and accordingly may have their personal opinions about the current issues surrounding the project. But their participation in this film was not coordinated through or sanctioned by the Legion. Our organization is an all-volunteer costuming club that focuses on official Star Wars promotions and charity work. Mounting protests is counter to the Legion's mission and would detract from the time and energy that we currently devote to more meaningful causes. I found this page while searching for articles on the Darth Weinstein boycott (because, like a lot of people, I care about it). And I registered on this lame site just to comment on your asinine article, which is full of factual inaccuracies. The entire rough cut of Fanboys was shown at screening for fans in July 2007, and it got three standing ovations.There's video of this on youtube. Lots of people have already seen this movie and loved it. In your post, you ask "Do they not realize that the Weinstein Co. doesn't care? And who else really cares?" Um… the 300,000 fans who emailed the Weinstein Co about the film care, moron. And the Weinstein Co. cares now, too, since they just put out a press release about it. And YOU obviously care too, since you wasted a big chunk of your empty life to post this article, to ridicule people standing up for something they believe in. You're an ass. Your blog sucks. Now, hurry up and delete this post, before the five people who read your site see it!

OK, seriously?

…The only reason to see this movie is Kristen Bell. I kid you not, she is the reason I started watching "Heroes" and "Gossip Girl" and is the reason I want to see "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." After seeing her as "Veronica Mars" she is one of my most favorite actresses, and I love most of what she does. Plus, she's wearing the Princess Leia costume. How can you go wrong there?!
