Week in Review: Dubya Domination and ‘Star Trek’ Unis

It was yet another wild week

Over the course of this past week I found Kinetic (or Kinematic) Typography and love it, updated my PS3 and saw one of the sickest movie trailers ever. However, that’s not all that happened… that’s just the tip of the ice berg.

Probably the most notable news of the week is how 300,000 emails got misconstrued as 300,000 people as Star Wars fans embarrass themselves in boycotting Weinstein Co. films over a film none of them saw. That’s right, it’s people overreacting at their finest. There’s also news that an Art House Movie may be the next spoof film as well as news on that Day the Earth Stood Still remake gone green and my anticipation for Summer 2008 begins to boil over.

Set pics were a big deal as Johnny Depp portrays Dillinger and the uniforms from Star Trek make a big stir online. Then there was the X-Files 2 poster, website and trailer updates.

Casting news tells us we may have a new Jason Voorhees, Spielberg and Jackson may have a Tintin and Ian McKellen talks about Gandalf’s return to The Hobbit. Then again, the biggest casting news may be for the George W. Bush biopic which is filling up nicely and has a lot of rumors of its own.

In other news we learn Scarlett Johansson’s Tom Waits covers album may actually be good, a Marvel blogger gets cease and desisted for posting plot spoilers and 89-year-old Atlanta Journal-Constitution sports writer Furman Bisher manages to insult the entire Japanese nation in one fell swoop.

Oh, and Starbucks ain’t having it with that tip-sharing ruling, Chelsea Clinton thinks her mom will be a better president than her dad was yet people continue to urge Hillary to quit.

Did you hear Barack Obama got a lap dance? The Olympics in China continues to be a problem, kids battle each other with tasers and finally Hillary gets caught lying once again…

…while this guy spoofs Tom Cruise quite successfully…

…and that’s the week that was….

Oh, and don’t forget to cheer for the North Carolina Tar Heels as they take on Louisville tonight!
