Tyler Tapped for Hulk’s Betty Ross

Comic casting continues

Liv Tyler is not exactly my number one choice for actress in any movie, but I will say she fit as an elf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I did enjoy her in Reign Over Me, but that is probably only because I love that movie. So, when I learn that she is set to play love interest Betty Ross in the upcoming comic adaptation The Incredible Hulk I remain a bit neutral.

Tyler will play Betty Ross, the love interest of Dr. Bruce Banner (a.k.a. The Hulk) who will be played by Ed Norton. Ross is Banner’s fellow scientist and an ally in his quest to rid him of his lurking monster deep inside. The movie will unfold with Ross estranged from Banner (Norton), but with the pursuit of the Hulk heating up and Banner on the run trying to cure his condition, Ross finds herself swept back into his life.

This is really the most we have heard about the synopsis for the restart of the comic franchise after Ang Lee’s 2003 debacle which starred Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly, who played the parts of Banner and Ross respectively.

The Incredible Hulkbegins filming under the direction of Louis Leterrier this summer in Toronto with Universal distributing and a June 13, 2008 release date already set.
