'Transformers' Extended Edition on Blu-ray and Original 'Star Trek' Flicks as Well

Wait, there's more?

Blu-ray.com has an interesting new update that says Paramount is set up to release the first six Star Trek films on Blu-ray, timed to hit shelves around the May 8 release of the new Star Trek as well as plans to release an extended version of the original Transformers film around the June 26 release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

I didn't know it could get any longer considering the first Transformers timed out at 2 hours and 23 minutes. I highly doubt they left many effects on the cutting room floor so does this mean we get more Shia? Or perhaps more of the dog… If there are more shots of the robots I hope it is an extended scene of Bumblebee peeing on John Turturro or perhaps more of the robots hiding around Shia's house. Those scenes were off the chains!

As for the Star Trek releases, those I am actually quite excited for. It means we will be getting Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. All I really want are Wrath of Khan and Voyage Home, but it's about time I have the complete set since I am sure I would watch the others as well.

The same article also says we should expect Warner Bros. to release Batman, Batman Returns, Batman and Robin and Batman Forever on Blu-ray in 2009 and to expect Pretty Woman, Sin City and Armageddon from Disney.

Unless WB changed the date as I have a different release date from the last party I was at with them – "Fans of Burton's Batman will be overjoyed to know that Blu-ray editions are on route for Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology 1989-1997 on December 30th."

Speaking of Batman, any chance TDK might have an extended edition out? Wouldn't mind seeing more of the Joker.

Nolan said in junket interviews there isn't anything left to add. :)

@ShaneM: i wish they would come out with a extended version of transformers because what ever happen to the decepticon barricade at the end of the first movie they show him going down the freeway during the chase scene with the other autobots before optimus prime took out bone crusher and barricade wasn't in transformers revenge of the fallen. what is wrong with michael bay why he just release the extended version on dvd or bring the first movie back to the theatres and show us everything what does he have to hide we don't keep secrets so he shouldn't every other director comes out with extended versions of movies they have one of armageddon so why not transformers whats the big difference what does hollywood have to hide they are not the c.i.a. thank you.
