UPDATED: Trailer for Viggo Mortensen’s ‘Good’

Heading to TIFF with this one...

UPDATED: I have updated the trailer with a better quality version.

Thanks to Ryan at Awards Daily we are tipped off to the emergence of the trailer for Viggo Mortensen’s Good, a film in which Mortensen will play a professor who has been seduced by Germany’s national pride and renaissance during the early 1930s as well as a flirtation with a student. Mortensen stars alongside Jason Isaacs, Mark Strong, Steven Mackintosh and Gemma Jones in the flick.

Mortensen actually replaced Hugh Jackman who was originally cast in the film way back in 2005 with Lone Scherfig (Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself) directing.

There currently is no distributor attached and a release date is not known but it is premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival beginning September 4. Personally I think it looks great and wouldn’t be surprised if we see this on the 2009 Oscar ticket (I don’t think there is enough time for this year, a boat Che has quickly fallen into). I would love to get a peek at it though, screener anyone? Please. Send one my way?

Speaking of Oscar season be sure to check out all we have for Mortensen’s upcoming western Appaloosa, I just added a ton of pictures.

Did they really just use music from Batman Begins for that trailer? Awesome.

Movie looks like it could be good, but the performances look a little subdued for a major Oscar contender. I might see it.
