This is officially the hardest list I have ever tried to compile. How do you condense an entire decade of movies and list your ten favorite? Well, based on this list it can't be done as I have three ties giving me 13 total films and I am sure several of you will be upset that your favorite still didn't make it onto the list. The IMDB Top 10 of the 1980s looks like this:

1. Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
3. Das Boot (1981)
4. The Shining (1980)
5. Raging Bull (1980)
6. Aliens (1986)
7. The Elephant Man (1980)
8. Amadeus (1984)
9. Nuovo cinema Paradiso (1988)
10. Full Metal Jacket (1987)

While three of those films made it onto my list the rest did not. Remember though, these are my favorites, and not necessarily what I think are the best of the '80s. As for a few films that just missed my list (and this is a very small taste), get a load of these:
