Called It: Clint Eastwood's 'Invictus' Poster Debuts

Will we see a trailer tomorrow?

Oh man, did I call it or did I call it? After my post yesterday saying we may be able to start seeing some movement from Warner Bros. on Clint Eastwood's Invictus, the poster has now debuted. Should we expect the trailer soon?

Invictus hits theaters on December 11 tells the true story of how Nelson Mandela (Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africa's rugby team (Damon) to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa's underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match.

Check out the poster directly below or a slightly larger version in our gallery here. You can also check out the official site, which just opened, right here.

My God, Freeman looks the part.

Reminds me, vaguely, of the aesthetic for the Changeling poster. I dunno, I like it. At least it's not floating heads.

I LIKE the poster. And I think Morgan Freeman looks great. Think Damon will master the accent?

Wow Brad, I must say I'm most impressed. I'm from South Africa and have been waiting for this for AGES now… looks good so far though. This movie certainly has the potential to go all the way (I think if anyone can do it, it's Clint Eastwood).
