The above image from Iron Man 2 is one I had not seen yet and I know the poster below is something none of us had seen yet as Yahoo just debuted it and it appears Paramount's promotion of Iron Man 2 is beginning to gain steam.
Last week the cover of EMPIRE (seen to the right) featured a new look at the Iron Man armor and quotes from the mag have been hitting the web like wildfire.
First off, director Jon Favreau was quoted saying, "Robert [Downey Jr.] is a real partner in the process. He's been very involved in the screenplay. When he went away to do Sherlock Holmes he was still part of our creative process." He added, "Even in the first film, where he was originally a hired gun playing the role, he really stepped up to rewrite scenes – he's a great writer, too. So we really are sharing the responsibilities."
The mag also features a full set report detailing the production, as well as all-new behind-the-scenes shots of Tony Stark and co.
On top of that, word is these two new images are rumored to be looks at what Mickey Rourke's final Whiplash costume will look like in the film. It's described as an "all-new, all-different" Whiplash and will hit stands on December 3.
Iron Man 2 is set to hit theaters on May 7, 2010 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Mickey Rourke, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Leslie Bibb. Now, check out the poster below featuring Iron Man as well as Don Cheadle's alter-ego, War Machine, and if you need even more images you can check out our current gallery of seven images right here.

i dont know anything about iron man, is that war machine behind him?
Yeah me neither. Who is behind him?
War Machine is behind him…………I have 2 words……….BAD ASS
can anyone say iRON MAN 2 officially gonna kick ASS
This is gonna be the biggest movie of 2010. Without a doubt.
As others have noted, that's Rhodey's War Machine armor behind him. It's interesting that it does read as a villain, especially with the red eyes… The pose could suggest tension between them, or it could simply be two friends covering each other's backs.
@Stephen:
And unlike "Transformers: Revenge of the Suck", it'll actually be one of the better blockbusters of 2010. I can't wait to see War Machine & Iron Man rip it up on the big screen next May.
Yes I cant see any other movie beating this next year. Maybe Harry Potter?
Any other guesses?
This article is more informative.

Alright what could possible beat iron Man 2, fair enough question.
Inception-Could be huge, but who knows
Robin Hood-If its good itll do Galdiator numbers, but probly not Iron Man
Harry Potter- Guaranteed just about 300 million, it will lose domesticly, win world wide
Toy Story 3- This thing could be the biggest of the year
Alice in Wonderland- Might appeal to the old and the young
Kick Ass- Might be big, wont win
Shrek 4- Does this franchise still have what it takes
Prince of Persia- The next pirates of the caribean franchise?
Twilight 3-God I hope not
The Last Airbender- Has more fans then most are aware of
The Expandables- Wouldnt that be epic?
Green Hornet- Probly not
Tron 2- Probly not
Rapunzel- Were bound to have another huge disney musical soon
2010-Who Knows?
@americanrequiem:
"Iron Man 2" is the "Transformers" of 2010- the first film was a massive success & the second is riding on a wave of good will and hype. Even if "IM2" plays out like "TF2" did, it'll make over $400 million in total- the only films that might be within $100 million of that will be Harry Potter & Toy Story 3 (and Eclipse if they're lucky).
@Vince:
Oh forgot about "Shrek Forever After"- I seriously hope that's the last one of the series.
That'll bank at least $300 million, I feel. Maybe even more if it doesn't suck as much as "Shrek the Third" did.
Nothing will beat Iron Man 2, unless too many people go see Prince Of Persia.
Why is anyone talking about that movie? Did they hear the plot or see the trailer?
Absolute gar-bage. Another vomit worthy magic dagger plot, a bad actor in the lead of same period movie with lines that make no sense, terrible.
All in all Iron Man 2 can easily win best super hero movie of all time and the incredible box office numbers. The 1st was an excellent start. But now the series has War Machine to work with, and Whiplash and The Black Widow as villains. And Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury is, well, present.
It will destroy that overrated dark Knight movie easily, at least in terms of quality and storytelling (not necessarily numbers).
Only Toy Story 3 can give Iron Man 2 a run for it's money. I see no more than 15-25mil separating both domestically. They will be the top 2 hands down, and a good strong case can be made for both to come out on top. The real battle will be for nos. 3, 4, 5, and so on.
Sweet. Can't wait. As for biggest b.o. of the summer. Either this one or Toy Story 3 will come out on top. Both will be the 1-2 punch of the summer, and I see both flirting and topping 400mil domestic.
War Machine is Don Cheadle's alter-ego? Cool! :P
I'm excited for this. Iron Man was a success, in my book, even if it did hinge entirely on the quality of Downey's performance. Harry Potter will pulverize it at the Box Office though, methinks, for 2010 in general.
My Top 5 grossing movies next year:
Toy Story 3
Iron Man 2
Shrek Forever After
Harry Potter 7 Part I
Prince of Persia
I'm not so sure about Toy Story 3 yet, or Shrek. I think Inception could also be a huge film. But it's still a little early to predict these things.
this movie will be incredilble just like the first
Iron Man 2 will be big
Toy Story 2 will also be big, with it being the curtain call to the mother of all CG-animation.
I'm just hoping both will live up to the standards set by it's predecessors.
I had a dream last night that Christopher Nolan came out with his 3rd batman film and it was AMAZING.
Looking forward to the movie although it will be hard to duplicate the success of Iron Man
