Oh, and another Ludlum gets the green

Molina and Kingsley Fly to Persia: Alfred Molina will join Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Ben Kingsley in Disney’s Prince of Persia, the Mike Newell-directed adaptation of the Ubisoft fantasy actioner. Molina will play Sheik Amar, who becomes a mentor to the prince. Shooting is slated to begin in July in the U.K. and Morocco. [Variety]

New Ludlum Hits the Fast Track: Universal isn’t quitting with the “Bourne” series, they are tapping into yet another Robert Ludlum novel as they have put the film adaptation of the late author’s “The Sigma Protocol” on the fast track. Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway have been brought in to pen the screenplay. “The Sigma Protocol” revolves around a young investment banker who discovers a secret organization that has been manipulating the global economy. When the banker tries to expose the scheme, he’s targeted for death. [Variety]

Bana May Headline Apatow’s Next: Apparently Judd Apatow’s next film may be about a stand-up comedian and new reports have Eric Bana set to play the lead. [CHUD]

Finally, I am putting this at the end and covering it in spoiler vision because from what Devin at CHUD says the text below via Ain’t It Cool News is in fact the ending to Terminator Salvation. I didn’t read it, but people don’t seem to like it to the point that Moriarty at AICN says, “Instead, the filmmakers might want to consider the Witness Protection Program.” Here it is:

“Alright so the main character is a cyborg named Marcus. For some background, Marcus was a criminal who was executed in 2003. He donated his body to Project Angel which was involved with SkyNet. They take his body and make a terminator out of him so he’s a terminator skeleton but has living muscle/skin and a beating heart too. At the end of the movie John Connor is fighting a T800 model 101 and loses. He dies and the top resistance people come up with a plan to help the resistance keep fighting on. The resistance feels that it’s important to keep the image or idea that John Connor is still alive so the resistance keeps going. So they rip off Marcus’ skin and put John Connor’s on the skeleton so now Marcus is John Connor.”
