Tarantino Watch: Pussycats or Bastards? What's It Gonna be?
Good lord this guy can give the runaround like no other...

So, we all seem to realize Quentin Tarantino is finally moving forward with Inglorious Bastards. He says he is done with the script and ready to rock. Then… out of nowhere… new casting rumors appear online, but not for Inglorious Bastards. Nope, this is for a rumored remake of the 1966 cult favorite Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! and the rumored name is none other than pornstar Tera Patrick.
I didn't give the rumor much thought until today when it appeared in some gossip rag style manner on Variety. I hardly give this one any pause as it seems to glorify the life of Tera Patrick, a.k.a. college graduate, turned nurse, turned pornstar. The site quotes Patrick saying, "I am the first to admit I can't do this forever! I'd love to cross over and do more "regular movies." I think she is saying her pink taco is getting beat up and worn out. Good to know pornstars realize they have a shelf life.
Perhaps the best quote though is when Variety writer, Liz Smith, says Tarantino "has admired her past performances". That one gave me a serious laugh. I wonder if it was Ass Angels, Filthy Fuckers #194: Suck My Handle or Up and Cummers 80 that caught Quentin's eye. (IMDb, by the way, is the ultimate resource!)
I mention all of this because this whole Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! rumor nonsense seems like just that, nonsense. While all of this is going on we get a new report from Nikki Finke making it sound like Tarantino isn't even thinking twice about Pussycat as she says he is shopping Inglorious Bastards around to studios.
Okay, why is this news? You wonder. Well, Tarantino is a longtime Weinstein boy, but as Finke puts it, "not only is Laurence Bender attached to produce Inglorious Bastards, but there's also "a possibility" that Harvey Weinstein will be producing as well but not financing it. This certainly adds fuel to those rumors that The Weinstein Co is having movie money woes."
Obviously, this is a bunch of beat-around-the-bush non-news, but I am a Tarantino fan and can't wait for something new and hope this all gets sorted out… and fast… without an actors' strike. Is that too much to ask?
