Tarantino Says There's a New Animated Sequence for Long Awaited Lengthy 'Kill Bill' Release

I'll believe it when I see it... but do I even want to see it?

Anyone that enjoys Quentin Tarantino or fell in love with Kill Bill volumes one and two is chomping at the bit to get their hands on the long gestating (and promised) release of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, especially since foreign territories have already been treated to extra special editions of the film and it was even, at one time, rumored to hit DVD shelves in December 2008. Obviously that didn't happen, but talk about the release has not yet quieted down and once again Tarantino himself is doing a little gum-flapping of his own as Tarantino.info brings us the following from a recent interview they had with the director:

"We've actually added some things to it. We did a whole little chapter that I wrote and designed for the animated sequence, that we never did, because we figured, back when it was gonna be one big movie, it was going to be too long, so we didn't do it. So when we were talking about re-releasing it, they asked is there anything you can put in, and I said no I put everything in there, but… there's one sequence that we wouldn't even have to shoot! So we got together with Production IG and did it, and it's really cool. So it's this little seven minute sequence, it's really cool, it's in the O-Ren chapter."

Sounds good to me, I loved the animated sequence in the original film and would certainly be up for some more and if Tarantino isn't just leading us on it sounds like he may actually already have the scene completed.

As for the rest of the film it will remain the same as it always has been and feature an intermission between the two features. In that case, unless it is chock-full of special features it may not be that interesting after all.

I've actually never seen Kill Bill: Vol. 2 since I want to see the movie as it was originally intended–as one long-ass butt-number of a movie–so any news about The Whole Bloody Affair is good news in my books.

Thank God! I can't believe that we've been waiting for the release of the full-length version of this film since 2005!! QT better not be jerking my chain on this one. While I love Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & Vol. 2, I was not impressed AT ALL with the bare-bones dvds which were released back in '05.

It's about time.
