Stone Taking Over ‘Watchmen’?

Lee off, Stone on... maybe.

The Hollywood Reporter is carrying a story that Oliver Stone is currently in talks to take over directorial duties on The Night Watchmen, a crime thriller of a disgraced cop who discovers corruption inside a police department and sets out on a mission to redeem himself.

The film has gone through several directors, first starting with David Fincher a long while back and most recently Spike Lee was attached to direct Keanu Reeves in the lead role.

While word of Reeves dropping off the pic has not been announced Lee has been removed from the picture to direct his next feature, Inside Man, with Clive Owen and Denzel Washington starring.

Stone has been added to the film in our database, but this news is in no way finalized.
