"Of course, the first question to ask is why does a remake of Oldboy need to be made at all? Whether you are a fan of Chan's flick or someone that hated it, I really don't see anyway of saying it isn't a very, very well made feature. Personally I have seen it only once and was actually quite sickened by it, so much to the point that I never even reviewed it because I didn't even want to revisit it in my mind. I almost saw it four years ago now though and can hardly remember the twist ending, but some of the images remain burned in my brain and those images most certainly do not scream Steven Spielberg and Will Smith. "

Haha thats why its a great movie! If it can leave an impact on a person like that whether good or bad then the film maker got his job done!

Yeah...if it DOES happen, it will almost definitely be PG-13, as Spielberg has stated that the only R rated movies he will ever do are historical type movies, like Munich, SPR, etc. And that, quite frankly, will just not work for Oldboy.

NOT POSSIBLE! That team is too family friendly to remake Oldboy without destroying it. The twist at the end was one to be shocked and disgusted about at the the same time and American cinema will freak so there is no way they can save the integrity of the original. JUST LEAVE MASTERPIECES ALONE!!!
