Speech Wars: Mickey Rourke at BAFTAs vs. Sean Penn at SAGs

Is Rourke now the frontrunner for the Oscar?

Mickey Rourke gave a very entertaining speech at the 2009 BAFTA Awards earlier today and once again gives good reason as to why Academy voters would love to see him on stage accepting an Oscar and making people laugh and potentially cry. His BAFTA speech certainly has enough to keep most people interested as he thanks his Wrestler co-star Marisa Tomei saying, "It was brave of her to take her clothes off all the time… I enjoyed looking at her." He also thanked his publicist Paula Woods for "having the hardest job in show business telling me where to go, what to do, when to do it, what to eat, what to dress, what to fuck…"

Watch the speeches and you tell me who you want on Oscar's stage on February 22.

Sean Penn hands down. Rourke's speech doesn't reflect the effort and hardship someone who fought their way upstream would give. his comeback is amazing, but his acceptance speech doesn't reflect that fight.

I hope Frank Langella wins the Oscar, though

Have you guys seen Sean Penn in MILK? He is magnificent, better than Mystic River or even Tom Hank's Philadelphia. SEAN PENN WILL WIN THE OSCARS!

Same as MERYL STREEP will win the OSCARS!
