Spade and Schneider are 'Bench Warmers'

Comedic duo reliving SNL days.

Revolution Studios has tapped funnymen David Spade and Rob Schneider for a baseball comedy titled Bench Warmers for Adam Sandler's Happy Madison.

The film was scripted by Allen Covert, the man behind Sandler's animated Christmas flick Eight Crazy Nights, and will center around three men who lacked athletic childhoods but try to make up for it by forming a three-man team that challenges nine-player youth baseball teams.

The project is being fast-tracked for a mid-April start but the studio is still on the lookout for a third in the trio of friends as well as a helmer. Sandler is not currently expected to star.
