If someone told me they liked Meet the Spartans, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't listen to what they had to see about ANY movie.

maaaan, why do you gotta riddle my brittle argument with holes?

however, if someone i knew liked those movies I would judge that our tastes in comedy don't line up whatsoever and therefore if they recommended any comedy to me…i'd be weary to check it out. yet sticking to my argument, if that's what they find funny…then good for them. And perhaps they are idiots, but i'll find some other way to determine that than their taste in movies…like if they replace mayo for paste on their sandwiches, for instance.

I was going to add an "editor's note" to this article, but I guess I will pose the question here: If you like movies such as Date Movie, Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans does this mean I cannot judge you based on the rules set forth in this article?

The problem is that the internet audience hasn't yet evolved to the point where they can read something thoughtfully and comment. It's either WHO R U TO JUDGE??? Or NUH-UH CLICK RULZ. Which really takes the fun out of the whole exercise.

B-Luv and I agree on 85% of movies I'd say but on the 15% of movies we don't it's at least interesting to hear him out. That way I can sharpen my talons for easier prey.

I agree that discussion and arguing are good things. I love to argue. And movies give us plenty to argue over. And there are definitely complex arguments to be had about films in which you can point to concrete evidence to support your claims. For example, I don't mind someone asking me to view a film under a different interpretation of a film's themes and such. It's just fighting over whether a movie is simply "good" or "bad" in terms of quality is a pretty pointless and superficial argument–and this is coming from the guy who writes a column called "The Shallow End."

Right, enough with the bull. Of course everyone should have their own opinion about movies.
How can you not? You either like or you don't. Then you can add the reasons why. I can agree or disagree it is that simple.
As simple as the people that subsequently call you an idiot for having your own opinion.

I love a good discussion, and don't forget a discussion is where you try to sway the other with actual arguments. If at the end you still don't agree so be it. Again simple.
Thats how it should be ("in my opinion" I add before the rocky fan forgets about David and turns around).

So if you feel like it David just let me know, there seems to be enough for us to discuss (exept for the rocky thing). Oh and don't worry, I deeply believe glass is for looking thru or drinking out of. I only use it for pointing when its empty and it's your turn to buy.
