No big surprise here as Sex and the City is already estimated to open huge as Steve Mason at Fantasy Moguls points out that the flick is already set to open with an estimated $20 million on Friday. Does this mean the folks that guessed the film will only open to the tune of $35 million be way off? Not really, but it looks like our boy Laremy Legel may be pretty close (if not slightly over) with his estimate of $48.1 million as the film is certain to be front-loaded by eager "beavers" (love that pun) and Thursday night, midnight screenings.

Critics have rightly given the film a rotten rating at RottenTomatoes (54%) thanks primarily to the fact that the flick is damn near two-and-a-half-hours long.

This isn't a complete Friday estimate article, which I hope to have for you early tomorrow, so stay tuned. We'll see if the numbers change. I am also interested to see how The Strangers ends up doing since it is pretty much shit (saw it at a matinee today and I will have my review online before the night is done).
