'Scream 4' Negotiates With the Arquettes

Sounds like we have a whole new series on our hands

This is more of a news post keeping open the possibility of a new movie in the Scream franchise than actually delivering any kind of casting news as Entertainment Weekly reports Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette have been approached to return to the franchise by writer/creator Kevin Williamson. However, that isn't necessarily the interesting part.

EW goes on to say Williamson has been working on a whole new trilogy that will bring back many of the characters from the original franchise, making this sound like we are talking about more of a remake/reboot than an actual Scream 4. This certainly jibes with our report back in February where we posted the following image giving us a look at the William Morris Agency Intranet:

EW says the hope is to begin work on the new franchise this fall and there is no word on whether Neve Campbell as the lead protagonist will be returning.
