'Scream 4' Eyes 2010 Production Start with Neve Campbell Set to Return

Dimension's not going to give up

Peter Bart at Variety is reporting Scream IV will start production in April or May 2010 as the first film in a new trilogy and Dimension is in talks with Scream 1, 2 and 3 helmer Wes Craven to return for the new franchise. On top of that he reports Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette will star.

The news comes as part of a piece announcing a new slate of films Dimension is putting into production. Along with Scream IV there's word Robert Rodriguez is writing a Spy Kids IV which he apparently will direct (where will he find the time) and will start shooting in March 2010 according to Dimension head Bob Weinstein.

Along with those two films there's also the previously announced Halloween 3-D and a remake of Children of the Corn. Weinstein is heading back to the franchise mold with plans to also shoot sequels to Hellraiser and Scanners in 3D as well as remakes of Short Circuit and American Warewolf in London.

Weinstein told Variety "there is no question that financing is readily available to produce and market these films."

A sequel to Hellraiser? Does this mean not a remake of the 1st? I think I suddenly have a hell of a lot more faith in this project, only fueled by the fact that besides the terrible Hellraiser: Hellseeker (the 6th), I liked all of the movies and the direct-to-video sequels.
And thank god Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox (and David Arquette) are coming back. They've said stuff about this being the last movie they'll appear in, but I hope maybe only Neve and David are killed Courtney Cox plays the sole survivor or something for 5.
Spy Kids 4? I don't know; it has to be better than Spy Kids 3-D. Spy Kids 2 was a good-enough sequel and the 1st one was good, but 3 sucked. Maybe 4 can actually complete what was meant to be a good trilogy. But isn't Alexa Vega a little too old to be a spy kid? Maybe she can train new kids or something?

I really wish they wouldn't make another Scream movie(s). I think the trilogy is perfect as it is. *shrugs*
