Schwarzenegger Confirmed for Digital Appearance in 'Terminator Salvation'

The Governator to show off his digital bits

In what may be one of the most ridiculous and overblown stories out there, Variety has finally published some sort of official confirmation announcing the fact California governor and original Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will appear in Terminator Salvation. The role will be an all digital appearance as he has been secretly working with helmer McG and the effects team to reprise his signature role.

The site goes on to say a body-cast mold of Schwarzenegger, created when he first appeared as the muscle-ripped cyborg, provided the basis for a digital-effects version of his famous character and the figure will appear in Terminator Salvation as a living, breathing actor. Arnold liked it and gave the go-ahead as the film is just being finished in time for early May screenings and its May 21 release date.

This will suck beyond all recognition..Some movies need that unrestricted R rating. This is one of those films. Instead we're getting another run of the mill kiddie friendly explosion fest. This is not a bonified Terminator movie..Hack directors like McG that compromise their films just to get more butts into seats doesn't fly well with me. I'm going to keep my money and hold out for the (hopefully) edit free unrated version on blu ray…if there will be one and I'm quite sure there will

I was a little excited for this movie until I heard that Arnold might make a cameo. Why belittle the movie like that? There's no need for it. What a waste.

At first I was horrified to hear about Schwarzenegger being in it as well, but it does make sense. His original character(s) were from the future.

Since the story has now progressed to that future point, it's either get a crappy body double that doesn't look anything like the Schwartz, use CG, or have him be mysteriously absent from the future that was originally so overcrowded with his model of terminator, that John Connor got a bulk discount ordering them from Cyberdine.

Personally, I think it's fortuitous that they still had those molds from the original movies.

I dont' understand what everyone is complaining about. It's the best thing ever that Arnie is making a appearance. He is the one that pretty much made the Terminator films. I would definitely trust him well over Christian Bale. Bale doesn't even seem to care for this film so if it does turn out to be a bad film, it's because of him.

Nevertheless, my expectations are high. If I had a choice to pick only one movie in a range of 3 years, it would be this one.

I for 1 understand the skeptisim of this attempt to ressurrect this ailing franchise, but I actaully want this movie to be very good, possibly great it's NOT going to surpass Cameron's Films but maybe can restore some of that vision and bring something we have not seen and really wanted to see, I am not a fan of MCG but I want him to succeed, to reply to comment made here, was the Dark Knight not a good movie and has Christian Bale not proved to be an actor who CAN act very well and carry a franchise just as much as Arnold, and why not have arnold in it, He is a big part of this as much as Camreon and the one who wanted to make T2, My point being maybe a suggestion not to have huge expectations going in but don't count them out either, Also writing creds to jonah nolan forTDK and prestige and a wonderfully independant cast and credible effects meistros, If it's somehow a lot tighter than the Incredible Hulk and half as good as Iron Man i'll be pleasently surprised and very happy but don't expect T2 or even T1 to be a success it has to be it's own animal not a rehash, but still retaining the Original vision.
