Sandino Moreno to Join ‘Cholera’

Columbian actress in negotiations for Newell pic

Catalina Sandino Moreno made a big splash on the scene with the 2004 pic Maria Full of Grace and she is now in negotiations to join Love in the Time of Cholera for New Line Cinema and director Mike Newell.

The pic already stars Javier Bardem, Benjamin Bratt and Giovanna Messogiorno.

The film is based on the novel by Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez and chronicles a love triangle set against the backdrop of turn-of-the-century South America. The story revolves around two young lovers who wait out careers, marriages, affairs and deaths until they can finally reunite. Moreno would play the role of Hildebranda Sanchez.
