Sam Rockwell Set to be Stranded on the Moon?
New details for Sam's next flick
I have said it many times in my articles, I love Sam Rockwell. I think he is one of Hollywood's most underrated and underused actors. I can't wait to see his turn in Choke (the only film it seems was worth seeing at Sundance) and now I have a new film to look foward to as MTV has details on why he is sporting a shaggy new beard.
MTV reports the beard is "all in preparation for his latest role, where the intrepid actor is going to take one small step for man…his last."
"I'm doing a sci-fi movie where I'm stranded on the moon for three years," Rockwell revealed. "That's why I have the beard.'
The flick is apparently called Moon and will be directed by David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones, a man who has one of the greatest full names you will ever see – Duncan Zowie Heywood Jones. Yee haw!
Jones' filmography is limited to a 2002 sci-fi short called Whistle in which he wrote, directed and produced.
There are no details on the film except for speculation by MTV saying it is a "what if" scenario as in "what if Neil Armstrong had to wait until Apollo 12 to come back home? And what if he had a freaking awesome beard?"
Sounds good to me, Rockwell is best when he is acting slightly crazed.
