Sam Raimi's 'Drag Me to Hell' Trailer

Raimi's return to horror has video footage

Sam Raimi is making a return to horror as the man that brought you The Evil Dead returns with Drag Me To Hell on May 29.

The film stars Alison Lohman as Christine Brown, an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks, and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home. In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: How far will she go to break free of the curse?

I'm gonna vote no on this one. I love the Evil Dead, but this just strikes me as yet another possession-horror flick.

Whaaaatttt? This is totally different from what I saw @ Comic Con last year. They're not even selling the humor aspect one bit!
And I don't mean laugh-out-loud humor, but like the fun, cringing "ahhh! oh my gosh! i can't believe she's doing that!" type of humor that comes with good, enjoyable horror movies. i can't believe they're not selling that part. hmm…

One question: Will there be Bruce Campbell?

Seriously though, Sam Raimi is a fantastic horror director and I can see this being good. Am I anticipating it? Not really, but I hope for the best.

Regardless, it's good to see him come back to his roots.

I'm feeling some good vibes on this one. I hope it's R-rated.

I like the reality part more than the horror part in the trailer. Let's see what will happen in the picture. BTW, Alison Lohman's acting looks like hurting the film so far…
