RUMOR MILL: Batman, Indy 4 and Watchmen

Too much stuff... brain exploding...

Okay, there are just way too many rumors for a Monday out there so instead of tackling them all in individual articles I felt I would give you the whole shebang at once, especially since if you are interested in one of these rumors I think you will be interested in all of them.

First we will begin with The Dark Knight since that seems to be the hottest subject over the past 24 hours. Already we have two supposed teaser posters, pics of Eckhart and Gyllenhaal on set, a look at Batman's motorcycle, a look at Batman on set and even a set report. Oh, and we just added a hi-res look at the new Batsuit right here. Now, we get a rumor about who Anthony Michael Hall will play in the film and it is actually quite interesting.

FilmIck is reporting that Hall will play Edward Nygma, a role played by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever, a character that becomes The Riddler. This would lead any Bat-fan to assume that Christopher Nolan may already be setting up the third film in the franchise to have Aaron Eckhart change into Two-Face and team with The Riddler, much in the way they did in Batman Forever, but I am assuming it will be far less cheesy.

The scoop also talks a bit about private detective Jason Bard who is now a drug addict and is selling the same type of chemicals that gave Scarecrow his powers in Batman Begins. Does this mean Scarecrow will be back or just referred to? Who knows?

Our next scoop comes from Ain't It Cool News as they received a rumor that Jim Broadbent has been cast in Indiana Jones IV as a Marcus Brody-like character. This comes on top of another rumor that when John Hurt was added to the cast he was actually cast as Albert Einstein (source).

Now, our next step takes us over to Zack Snyder's Watchmen, which seems to have everyone in Hollywood vying for a role. Already today I posted an article concerning the addition of Jackie Earle Haley to the cast as Rorchach. Well, now new casting rumors have come out of Ain't It Cool News.

The first bit tells us that now that Keanu Reeves will not be playing Dr. Manhattan the frontrunner for the position is Jason Patric. They also tell us that the likes of Ron Perlman and Nathan Fillion have been considered for the role of The Comedian (pictured right), but they say the lead candidate is a "'punishing' choice." I can only assume they are referring to Thomas Jane and this would make a lot of sense and give good reason as to why Jane so easily said adios to The Punisher 2. I don't know about you, but Jane seems the perfect choice if I were to base my opinion on the picture alone.

So there you have it. Is that enough for you? If not Michael Chiklis is talking about a possible movie based on "The Shield" over here.
