Rumor Mill Roundup: Megan Fox Nudity, 'Riddick 3,' 'Death Race' Prequel and More

Green Arrow movie cameos, 'Blair Witch Project 3' and then some

Wow, it's been a while since I last did one of these bad boys, but today we have a good healthy dose of rumors, speculation and a few side notes worth getting into… Let's get started.

A prequel to last year's Death Race is now rumored to be in the offing with director Paul W.S. Anderson at the center of it and Tony Giglio aboard to write a script, based on a story by Anderson. Giglio may also direct. Word is the script will delve into the past of the driver known as Frankenstein who died at the opening of the 2008 remake. Sounds like a direct-to-DVD prospect to me considering the first one only generated $74 million worldwide on a $45 million budget. [STYD]

Rumors of Megan Fox nude scenes in Jonah Hex have now started circulating as 13-year-old boys and 65-year-old men now look forward to August 6, 2010. [We are Movie Geeks]

Vin Diesel commented on the status of a third Riddick film on his Facebook page saying:

The Riddick discussion is about rating now…

Though Hollywood likes their PG Ratings, the next chapter in the COR series was always envisioned as an R rating, like Pitch Black

One Studio exec suggested doing both "The Underverse" and "The Furyan," (working titles) at the same time, allowing us an R rating for the first and a PG rating for the second.

The good news- David Twohy's script comes in next month.

Looks like the studio has ignored the 5,000+ votes when I asked "Would You Rather Universal Make a Third Riddick Film or 'Serenity 2'? ".

Apparently the rumor regarding Steven Spielberg's involvement in the Halo movie wasn't true as Kotaku got in touch with Microsoft who delivered the following statement:

We're glad there's still a lot of enthusiasm in the entertainment industry surrounding the idea of a Halo movie. That said, the Halo feature film remains on hold as we focus on projects like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach.

I guess I shouldn't say it wasn't true as much as I should say, simply, the movie isn't happening right now. Perhaps Spielberg is interested, but it isn't moving forward at the moment. There, that's being dilpomatic isn't it?

The Justin Marks penned Green Arrow story, Super Max, is getting a rewrite according to producer David Goyer who says the film is "definitely something we're developing" and cameos in the feature will include the likes of Lex Luthor, the Joker and the Riddler. [MTV]

Next, Warner Home Video sent over the trailer for the upcoming Blu-ray release of The Wizard of Oz due out September 29. Click here for more info on the release.

DVD rental kiosk company Redbox said today it has sued 20th Century Fox over the movie studio's attempts to delay its titles from appearing in Redbox vending machines. [Los Angeles Times]

Yet again, talk of a Blair Witch Project 3 has surfaced with director Eduardo Sanchez telling the BBC:

"Ideally, each Blair Witch film would be a completely different kind of movie,", he says. "We've thought about doing a film that takes place in the late 1700s and looks like a [Stanley] Kubrick movie with gritty looking people and lighting.

"But now, we're thinking about going back and and seeing what happened directly after the first film finished.

"I think it will have some kind of video element in it, but it won't be a first person hand-held movie."

I think this boat has sailed…

Finally, another new video showed up at Film Drunk yesterday and is good for a laugh or two featuring characters played by Harrison Ford and their concern for wife and family:

Are you sure the only males interested in seeing Megan Fox naked are 13 year olds or 65 year olds? Seriously, no one is under the illusion this babe can act. She's window dressing and if she wants to keep dressing those windows, she'd best not show too much and lose the advantage of people's imaginations.

@Josh: Yeah, I'm going to try to get back to doing more of them. They are sort of fun to put together as well as cover quite a bit of ground without wasting a lot of space.

@ddurden33: Oh nudie pix. Well, I guess I don't look or care. But going nude on screen requires a spectacular performance to ground it. Some of my favorite actors have gone nude on screen for the authenticity of the scene. One of the bravest examples is Frank Langella in "Starting Out in the Evening" which, by the way, is a movie I recommend. But since Megan can't act, it would be for show only.

One more nude body. Who´s counting? Well, I guess I enjoy the scenery just as much as everybody. But since Megan Fox is not an actress it´s a different attitude. She´s a poser with a body attitude, which is all right by me, but being a poser she happily joins the club of million nobodies. This is not to be taken seriously. Please stop mentioning her name twice a minute. Please stop enjoying mentioning her name, you old critics and randy bloggers. She is just a body. A no-body.

Give Fox a chance! She's starring in her first movie written by an Oscar winner, with some solid actors. Sure she will not be Streep, but maybe a Witherspoon?

God I hope she doesn't take her clothes off…I know I'm going against my own instincts but she's already proved that she's a badass off screen so why try to go nude to attract more attention? I think its just the producers of these movies that want to attract more viewership to the movie despite what it may do to Fox's image.

She's a free and expressive girl. Let her be expressive but I hope she doesn't get talked into nudity. Let the female nudity stay in porn where it belongs. Almost every actress who's taken off her clothes has lost some semblance of dignity; I just don't want that to happen to any more girls, even if they are or are not role models for young tweens…

i once read in a magazine, she said, she prefers to date older men, according to her, young men her age are ignorant and lack wisdom, if all women started thinking like that, then lord have mercy on all hugh hefners of the world, i can easily count like 10 chicks in my neighborhood that are way hotter, ms fox takes the word "overrated" to a whole another level.

@ddurden33: She didn't ask for that rating. She was made out to be a pinup girl from the first Transformers and she's just been asked all these questions and begged for interviews. What's she supposed to do? Say no? Come on!

She doesn't act as though she's a superstar; she hasn't developed a huge ego. She's just trying to get good roles and branch out her acting; and she said her herself that all she wants to accomplish is to be a good actress…not a bloody superstar.

And she is soooo hot. Ya, she may not be the most voluptuous woman, w/ her B-size boobies, but at least she sounds like she's got some semblance of a brain as opposed to all the other sex symbols.

I hope Megan keeps her clothes on for this movie, then we would be spared more interviews with her babbling about herself and how amazing she thinks she is.

I just hope the Green Arrow movie focuses a lot on character dynamics like the original script was rumored to have.

A 1700s' Blair Witch movie sounds BORDERLINE interesting but making a movie immediately after the events of the first one sounds like certain disaster and milking it for the sake of it so I agree with Brad.

I think I've said enough about Megan Fox on this site and I'm just going to ignore anything about her from this point on. Unless it is something really unavoidable, like nailing-the-role-of-Catwoman-in-the-next-Batman unavoidable.

I liked Blair witch 1 and still play to this day BW2 book of shadows. Which I hated watching in theaters. But over time grew to love the film. I definetly agree Blair witch 3 should not be made. It's been way to long for people to care about that movie franchise. Except me, I'll still buy it

@Anonymous' Friend:

Didn't she turn down being in the next bond film?
One of the longest running franchises ever. You say she dosen't have an ego, but to turn down a bond role…

@DarkFoot25: We don't know the entire story behind that, but I don't object. I don't think it has to do with ego, but rather trying to branch out as an actor. A Bond girl is a one layered sex object who will not be required to do any acting and just be eye candy. Look at how Halle Berry's talent was wasted. One exception was that girl who played Vesper in the first one, but the second Bond movie has now established Bond as a womanizer and a person who may no longer invest his heart for meaningful pursuits.

I think the only reason people would hire Megan Fox in those films is because her reputation preceeds her as the type of girl who will attract audiences from her sex appeal. This is why she should branch out and pursue more roles which will capitalize on her sex appeal as well as improve her acting chops.
