RopeofSilicon's Homepage Gets a Makeover

It's about time a little life is shown on the site

Well, I got tired of the boring same old, same old and decided it's time to get a little more ... gritty? After a lot of work I have finally finished my latest redesign to the RopeofSilicon.com homepage and personally I think it is my best yet. Yup, that's a little back pat if you could quite tell.

The new site was inspired by the artwork of Ralph Steadman the illustrator that worked with Hunter S. Thompson all those years from "Rolling Stone" to "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and beyond. The idea struck me as I was watching Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson and remembered just how great Steadman's work was and thought what better way to reinvent the homepage than to give it some real attitude.

Over the next couple of months you will notice a few changes here and there, but nothing drastic. My goal is to make sure all the pages you visit regularly will still be exactly where you expect them. The only changes I have planned are aimed at a few changes to the article pages (changes that you may not actually even notice) and changes to the news archive pages (example). It's going to be more about cleaning up and ease of use than changing your experience. Basically, my goal is to make it a bit more fun, and a bit easier if possible.

I hope you like the changes, but, of course, if you don't PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Criticism does not hurt me, it only helps the site if I get feedback from you. If you have anything to say CLICK HERE and let me know. Positive or negative, it only helps me make the experience better for you. After all, I do all the designing myself so I don't have to third-party it.

Hope you like it and thanks for visiting!
