Rickman Confirmed to Judge 'Sweeney Todd'

One more joins the Burton adventure

I am looking forward to Tim Burton's adaptation of Sweeney Todd, but I am praying he doesn't muck it up like he did with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. On top of already announced Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen we now learn that the fantastic talent of Alan Rickman has been tapped to play the lecherous Judge Turpin that unjustly imprisons Benjamin Barker (Depp) who returns as barber Sweeney Todd and exacts revenge. John Logan penned the big-screen adaptation.

The big-screen adaptation was adapted by John Logan. The film goes into production next month in London for a fourth quarter 2007 release.
