I saw Year One today, and while everyone knew it wasn't the greatest movie, they all really seemed to enjoy it. And the show was sold out. The Hangover and UP continue to display exemplary staying power. Year One opened ok, but expect it to lose steam both Sat and Sun because word of mouth is simply atrocious. The Hangover will leapfrog into the #2 spot, and UP will leapfrog into the #3 spot. Year One will find itself #4 once it's all said and done. The Hangover will stay strong too. As for Year One, the word of mouth from those who watched this yesterday is overwhelmingly poisonous. This movie will drop as the weekend progresses and won't see any increase from that 8mil opening day (similar to Land of the Lost and Love Guru).
