Actually this one could work if Michael Bay stays 'beep!' away from it. At least we wont be hammered with awful humor every 2 seconds!

It'll never get the budget of transformers.
So we'll end up (and thats if we're lucky) with something inbetween transformers and power rangers.

If done right, i.e. without Michael Bay, this could work.

No matter what happens, I see that I will complain about the lack of character development and the creative bankruptcy in the film, and people will say I'm old and all they wanted to see was five robots turn into one big robot so they got what they wanted. And the circle of life continues to spin.

Why you gotta dis Voltron??? And, Warner has fubar'd enough projects. Superman Returns comes to mind instantly. Now, in 2013, they lose the rights to that character altogether because of their shady accounting magic. Nah, if it goes to WB, I'd be more concerned about it than if it landed anywhere other than Fox. WB ranks just above Fox on my $#!+ list.

Voltron is awesome, with a story better than Transformers, and much cooler characters. And yes, more giant robots will be cool, ones that are not in Terminator movies (yes, I did hate that part of Terminator Salvation that much).
I do want to punch Michael Bay for some of the real dumb comedy in Transformers, but for the sake of developed characters and more giant robots and explosions, bring on both Transformers 3 and Voltron.

If people are developing big robot franchises; what happened to evangelion?

@zyzygy: We're still working through the eighties. You're just going to have to wait another decade or so. I wish I still had my Voltron key.
