Pitt Has a Co-Star in New Malick Film

Who is this Chastain lady?

When I first saw the headline “Chastain to star opposite Pitt in ‘Tree’” I instantly thought of Brandy Chastain… You know, the sports-bra revealing World Cup Soccer player? Then I was like… Really, a soccer player is making the jump from athlete to movie star and in a Terrence Malick film starring Brad Pitt and co-starring Sean Penn? Nah… Couldn’t be… and it isn’t.

It is actually Jessica Chastain, an actress certainly less well-known than Brandy, but if Terrence is bringing her on I am sure she has a little something to brag about.

Chastain will play the female lead opposite Pitt in Tree of Life, a film that story concerns the loss of innocence as seen through the eyes of the son of the characters portrayed by Pitt and Chastain. Penn appears in a supporting role.

Heath Ledger was originally slated to star in the film, but Pitt replaced him prior to the late actor’s death.

Chastain will next be seen in the Al Pacino starrer Salomaybe.
